White House uses photo of Sólheimajökull glacier to highlight the need for action on climate change

By Staff

Yesterday the White House posted a photo of Sólheimajökull glacier to highlight the need for action on global climate change. The photo was taken by National Geographic’s James Balog in July of this year. Balog has documented the receding of the glacier since 2007, creating a time lapse video showing the dramatic effects of climate change.

The dramatic time lapse video, which covers the years 2007-2014 is accessible on the website of the Earthvision Institute.
