A video of the Icelandic national football team leading supporters into the now famous “Viking war cry” has been viewed over 17 million times, reports the National Broadcasting Service

Síminn, a local telephone company, shared the video on its Facebook page on Monday. The video has since been shared 275 thousand times and received 200 thousand ‘likes’.

The Iceland team won the hearts of many football fans with their incredible success at the Euro 2016, becoming the smallest nation ever to enter a major international tournament before suffering defeat at the hands of France last Sunday.

The team’s supporters also made international headlines for their chants, now famously called the “Viking war cry”.
