Watch Icelandic strongman The Mountain try to set world record in washing-machine tossing

  • A common sport in Iceland While Europeans once competed in dwarf tossing, civilized countries currently practice more civilized sports, like washing machine tossing. Photo/Screenshots from video, see below.

The Icelandic strongman Hafþór Július Björnsson, best known for his role as "The Mountain" on the Game of Thrones recently tried to beat the world record in the ancient art of washing machine tossing.

Hafþór competed against the former world's strongest man, Lithuanian strongman Zydrunas Savickas. The competition was organized by the Guinness Book of Records. Hafþór has previously set world records in things like "Fastest 20 m (66 ft) carrying two fridges" and "Highest beer keg toss (male)".

Unfortunately The Mountain was unable to beat Zydrunas' masterful 4.13 m (13.5 ft) toss, but his throws were certainly artistic and worthy of praise as the video below shows.
