Goðafoss waterfall is one of the most powerful in Iceland, making it a popular tourist destination. It's located the Bárðardalur valley district in North Iceland, close to the northern end of the Sprengisandur highland road

While most visitors are content to watch the power of nature at work, some have to participate first hand as the local website reports.

Last week three English adventurers kayaked down the 12 meter (40 ft) high waterfall. According to a local man, Sigurður Hlynur Snæbjörnsson, who was on hand to film the event the three were experienced kayakers, but still didn’t dare try the higher, western end of the waterfall, instead opting for the eastern end.

But, as Sigurður Hlynur points out in his comment to the video he posted on Facebook, "There are all kinds of crazies around."

Það eru allskonar brjálæðingar á ferðinni.
