Game of Thrones star and Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, better known as “the mountain”, set a new world record in keg toss at the Giants Live competition in Sweden. Hafþór tossed a 15 kg (33 lbs) beer keg more than seven meters (24 ft 6 in) into the air. Hafþór also held the previous world record, which hee had set in 2014 when he threw a 12.3 kg (27 lbs) keg 8 m (26 ft 5 in) according to the Guinness book of world records

Giants Live puts the achievement into perspective: "To put that into perspective that's the equivalent of throwing a 4 year old over three buses stacked on top of each other."

After the event Hafþór, who also goes by the name Þór, told fans that the achievement had been no big deal. According to Giants Live Hafþór was actually looking out for the arena:

“It was easy! I could have broken the roof, it was amazing to do this in front of the great crowd. Bring on Europe’s Strongest Man.”

The competition in Sweden is held in preparation for Europe’s Strongest Man 2016 competition. Hafþór has won the title Europe’s strongest man twice, in 2014 and 2015.
