Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk paid the skate park in Hafnarfjörður a visit yesterday

The American professional skateboarder Tony Hawk paid the skate park in the Reykjavík suburb of Hafnarfjörður a surprise visit yesterday. The skateboarding legend and his partner are spending a few days in Iceland after having attended a charity event in Stockholm, Sweden.

Jóhann Óskar Borgþórsson, director of the Hafnarfjörður Skateboarding Association, likened Tony’s visit to the park to that if basketball player Michael Jordan dropped by to practice with the town’s local basketball team.

“This guy is a true legend in the sport of skateboarding,” Jóhann told Vísir.

Tony Hawk is probably best known for completing the first documented 900 and for his licensed video games.

Jökulsárlón Glacier is so goth right now.
