On May 25 Icelandair will make its first flight between Kansas City and Keflavík. Icelandair will make three flights between Keflavík and Kansas each week over the summer months. The service will last until the end of September.

Kansas City International Airport, which is the 39th busiest airport in the US, will become the 21st North American destination for Icelandair. For Kansas, however, the new route is a first. The local news site Túristi points out that Icelandair is set to become the first airline to offer regular trans-Atlantic or European flights from Kansas City International Airport.
