10+ reasons to love Reykjavík's old harbor area
It's official: Iceland is the most picturesque destination in the world, at least if you plan to capture the scenic beauty on Instagram. The fashion and lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan has named Iceland the "Most Instagrammable Place on Earth".
What makes Iceland so Instagram friendly is the combination of amazing and unique scenery, the magical light conditions, the Midnight Sun and the Northern Lights, and the sheer variety of landscapes and surroundings, from black sands and dramatic cliffs, glaciers, waterfalls and stunning horizons. The near endless selection of locations which change constantly due to the changing weather and seasons ensure that you won't be copying somebody else's travel photo:
"...take that generic vacation Insta-magic and times it by 10. That's what you get when you take a trip to Iceland — a location that could very well be the most Instagram-friendly place on earth."
It almost doesn't matter where you go, as every road in Iceland could be characterized as a scenic route. Cosmopolitan, however, picks four top Instagram items for your bucket list: The Northern Lights, the Blue Lagoon, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in Vatnajökull National Park, the ice caves in Skaftafell, also in Vatnajökull National Park and the Black Sand Beaches of South Iceland.
