A group of investors hope to construct a geothermal beach on Urriðavatn lake in East Iceland. Construction works could be completed in two-years-time, according to Channel 2 News.

Urriðavatn is situated 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) north of Egilsstaðir village. It is also conveniently located halfway between Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in southeast Iceland and the magnificent Lake Mývatn in the north, making for an ideal rest stop. According to Channel 2 News, sunbathing on Urriðavatn’s black beach is predicted to become the main attraction.
