Police was notified of the man shortly after eight yesterday evening. He was behaving erratically and aggressively, attacking foreign visitors in the city center. When the man was arrested and search police found what is believed to be illegal drugs. The man was taken to a holding cell where he was "offered the opportunity to sleep off his state". He will be interrogated later today.

The travellers who had been attacked by the man would not press charges because they had booked a flight back home from Iceland today. It is not clear whether they suffered any injuries in the attack, but according to the sources of the local news site Vísir Police assumes they were not hurt in the altercation.
