The skeleton of a blue whale will soon become part of the Whale Museum in Húsavík‘s exhibition. A new wing will be constructed to house the huge skeleton, reports the National Broadcasting Service.

The skeleton is 25 metres (82 ft) long and roughly 6 metres (19.6 ft) wide. “We need to build a new 500 square metre (5382 sq ft) extension to room the massive skeleton,” explains Einar Gíslason, the museum’s manager.

The planned development’s estimated cost is around 250 million krónur (1.623.798 Euros/ 2.074.688 US dollars).
